Dining & Meal Service

Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. Mount Auburn Hospital makes every effort to provide nutritious meals that are prepared according to your doctor’s orders.

Room Service

Our Room Service Program is designed to give you greater control over the timing and content of your meals during your stay with us. After reviewing your choices, dial extension 3663 (FOOD) to speak with a member of our staff. The nutrition clerk will take your selections and contact our kitchen to place the order.

Room Service hours

  • Breakfast: 7:15 am - 9:30 am
  • Lunch: 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
  • Dinner: 4:15 pm - 6:00 pm

You may request a meal at any time during our open hours. Upon request, meal boxes and pre-cooked meals are available for after-hours dining. If you are scheduled for a special test or treatment your nurse or physician will direct you the appropriate time you may resume your meal service. At that time dial phone extension 3663 (FOOD) and your meal will be delivered to your room. Please note that if you are on a special diet prescribed by your doctor, our nutrition clerks will offer you a range of food substitutions.

During those times your family members would like to enjoy a meal in your room while you recover, we offer several options for their convenience:

Cafeteria

Your family members can enjoy a wide range of hot entrees, beverages, and snacks for purchase in our cafeteria which also features a made to order grill and deli counter along with a fully stocked salad bar. Located on the second floor of the Needham building the cafeteria is open from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday. Weekend and holiday hours of operation are 7:00 am to 6:30 pm.

The Stanton Café

Your visiting family and friends may also enjoy freshly made to order paninis, deli sandwiches and gourmet salads in our Stanton Café. Located in the main lobby of the Stanton Building, where all day We Proudly Serve Starbucks™ along with fresh pastries and desserts. The Stanton Café is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Vending Machines

Patients and visitors may also purchase snacks and beverages at vending machines located on the second floor of the Needham building by the center elevators and in the Emergency Department waiting area.

In special cases if you would prefer a family member may choose from the menu in your room and have a tray delivered.
