Find nonpharmacological pain relief for conditions affecting your bones, muscles and joints with biopuncture treatments at Mount Auburn Hospital’s Marino Center for Integrative Health.
You can rely on our experienced, well-trained practitioners to provide safe, effective care.
What Is Biopuncture?
Biopuncture injects a safe homeopathic preparation—a highly diluted plant-based solution—into your muscles at specific points on your body. The injections stimulate your immune system, reducing pain and inflammation. Your treatments will use a solution for your specific condition. They may be used in conjunction with conventional treatments.
Who Benefits from Biopuncture?
Biopuncture is primarily used to treat musculoskeletal conditions, such as back or neck pain, joint pain, strains and sprains, mild arthritis and painful scars. It may also be a helpful complementary therapy for chronic inflammatory conditions, such as bronchitis, hay fever, eczema and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Treatments from a Medical Acupuncturist
Take advantage of the knowledge and experience of a medical doctor (MD) who incorporates biopuncture, acupuncture and other complementary therapies into traditional medicine. Leonid Gordin, MD, holds certifications in medical acupuncture, integrative holistic medicine and pain management.
What to Expect at Your Biopuncture Appointment
At your first appointment, you’ll meet with Dr. Gordin to discuss your health history and current symptoms. You may also get a physical examination.
If biopuncture is a good option for you, you’ll begin injection therapy. You’ll receive several injections at different points on your body. You can expect minimal pain because we use very fine needles. Biopuncture uses small doses, so you may need several treatment sessions. You and your doctor will work together to decide how many treatments you need.
At the Marino Center for Integrative Health, biopuncture treatments are coupled with acupuncture to promote balance, relaxation and healing.
