In an Emergency Call 911

If you are undergoing a potential medical emergency including any of the following symptoms:

  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Signs of a stroke 
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Multiple injuries
  • Bleeding that will not stop
  • Coughing blood
  • Vomiting
  • Bleeding from the rectum
  • Severe burns
  • Pregnancy-related emergency

Call 911 immediately or go to your nearest Emergency Department.

Walk-in Center and Urgent Care Centers

If you are experiencing a minor illness, trust the Mount Auburn Hospital Walk-in Center and the CareWell Urgent Care Centers to get you back on the road to recovery. You do not need an appointment to be seen for your non-life threatening illness and injuries.

Common Conditions We Treat

We will treat you for the following illnesses and injuries including:

  • Coughs and colds
  • Back and neck pain, joint pain, body aches
  • Minor fractures and injuries including XRAY
  • Rash, skin infections and insect bites
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted illnesses

Mount Auburn Hospital Walk-In Center Hours of Operation

If you are an adult age 13 and older you can visit the Walk-in Center.

Monday through Friday Registration opens for the Walk-in Center at 7:45 am in the O’Neill Admitting department located in the Needham Lobby. Our staff begins to see patients at 8:00 am. Final registration for the day is at 7:30 pm, after which all urgent care will be handled in the Emergency Department.

Saturdays and Sundays the Walk-In Center Hours are 9:00 am and closed at 5:00 pm.  Weekend Registration for the Walk-In Center opens at 8:45 am with the final registration for Saturdays and Sundays at 4:30 pm. 

The Walk-in Center is open on the following holidays from 8:00 am with the first registration at 7:45 am, and closes at 4:00 pm with the final registration at 3:30 pm.

  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day (July 4th)
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Eve
  • Christmas Eve

The Walk-in Center is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Days.

Monday through Friday 8 AM to 8 PM

CareWell Inman Square Hours of Operation

Located at 1400 Cambridge Street, Cambridge

Monday through Friday 8 AM to 8 PM
Saturday 9 AM to 6 PM
Sunday 9 AM  to 6 PM

CareWell Somerville Hours of Operation

Located at 349 Broadway, Somerville

Monday through Friday 8 AM to 8 PM
