This 8-Week Mindfulness Training in Primary Care (MTPC) program is a patient-centered, mindfulness intervention designed for delivery in health care settings. It is designed to enhance self-management among patients with chronic illness and to activate stress-reducing, health-inducing behavioral change by patients within a collaborative care environment. The visits accomplish these aims by cultivating mindfulness, compassion, insight, and empowerment to live well for ourselves and others.
The Live Online MTPC program consists of:
• 8 Weekly Shared Medical Visits, 2-2.5 hours
• Daily home practice, 30-60 minutes a day
• A Strong Commitment to attend all sessions and to practice daily home assignments for 8 weeks
Led by Neeti Jha, MD and Dr. Michael Spertus, MD
This class has a 2.5 hour orientation meeting and seven 2 hour classes.
Cost of Program: Insurance will be billed via telemedicine. Many insurances have waived co-pays for virtual visits, but please check with your insurance, as there may be your typical co-pay cost per session.
