Description

This 8-Week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program is the original program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Stress Reduction Clinic at University of Massachusetts Medical Center.  Since 1979 more than 25,000 people have completed this evidenced based training. MBSR is a complement to traditional medical and psychological treatments and general wellness. Numerous studies over the past 41 years have shown this 8 week program to be effective in helping to treat a wide variety of medical and psychiatric conditions.

The entire MBSR program is delivered live through online video conferencing (Zoom). We will practice mindfulness in many forms (sitting, moving, walking, scanning etc.). There will be opportunity for small and whole group sharing, checking in and asking questions.  You will receive audio downloads to guide much of your daily, at home practice.

The Live Online MBSR program consists of :

• Orientation (2 ½-3 hours, required for enrollment) scheduled 1-2 weeks prior to your class

• 8 Weekly Classes, 2 ½ hours each

• One All-Day Retreat Class on a Saturday or Sunday

• Daily home practice assignments, 45-60 minutes a day

• A Strong Commitment to attend all classes and to practice daily home assignments for 8 weeks
